Does any version of this sound familiar?

I’m too scared to travel on my own.
I can’t do that, what will they think of me?
So many things could go wrong!
It’s too hard to do this alone.

I totally understand. I have been there. I’ve felt these fears.

Ok, so let’s clarify something… Fear does not mean that something has gone wrong. Fear means that you’re a human being and experiencing fear prepares you for survival.
All of us feel fear – fear of being vulnerable, of being exposed, of being rejected, of shame, just to name a few.

Here are some things you should know about this fear you are experiencing:
When we are born we only have two fears – the fear of falling & the fear of loud noises. All other fears, are learned as we grow.
Fear always lives in the future. Fear is the ‘what might happen scenario’.
Fear serves us in many ways.
Fear can also “pretend” to be neccessary.
Most often what we are really terrified of is the feeling of humiliation or shame. We don’t think this through. We just stop at fear.
Fear is created with your mind. The majority of fear is irrational & illogical.

What we need to understand is that we will always have fear. It is ok to be afraid. It is totally normal to feel fear. But it does not need to stop us from doing the things we want to do. It does not stop us from travelling, from pursuing our dreams, from getting out & seeing the world. Fear can be the guiding light showing you the way… FOLLOW IT!

Look at people who have created a life you want. You might think they are fearless. This is not true. We ALL feel fear. They are feeling fear just as often as you. They are not using it is a reason to stop. They don’t let fear hold them back. In fact, a lot of successful people use their fears as fuel…

When it comes down to it fear is just a feeling, a vibration in your body. Don’t avoid it. Walk towards it. Embrace it, Explore it. Allow yourself to feel the fear & take action.

Taking action whilst acknowledging fear is one of the most powerful things you can do!

Feeling fear is not a valid reason not to do something. Fear is only a feeling, feel it, own it, embrace it & do it anyway!
